Art-journal 7

One of my first neurographic arts drawings in my art-journal. This one has in its center a little plant with a flower. I wanted to make some rainbow colors around the plant. It looks very much like a spiral to me. The plant is radiating its beauty to the world. Each circle represent a human in its surrounding, that is enjoying the plant and flower

The drawing is made with fineliner and coloring pencils in my art journal. Alice

Neurographic art

In my Art-journal I made some Neural Art drawings. This one was the first, just made after some pictures in Pinterest. It was also a test for the used paper in my Art-journal. And so you can see the paper is not so good, the ink flows a bit out and is grainy. The colors were made with some cheap paint-markers, but the were a dried out. Ik have painted them again with my ecoline markers. I also used some gold in a few places. The paper became also a bit wobbly. Alice

I like trees. I made a drawing with trees and hills. I was a bit inspired with a painting i had seen on Pinterest. A great medium when you want something else to draw. But also a bit disappointing cause the pictures are also so beautiful and there are so many that you lost your appetite to draw anything new. I think my drawing is not as beautiful as the original, but I am still a bit satisfied with it. the material is colored pencil and fineliner. Alice

Art-journal 5

In my journal some paints were showing on the other side of the page, so I looked for a solution. And there is Gesso, luckily I had a container with this wonder. I painted 2 pages with it and let it dry for a couple of hours. Then I made a flower painting with soms acrylic paint. the picture is only a part of the painting, it didn’t fit in the scanner. When sufficient dried I draw the contour of the scenery with fineliner. Alice

Art-journal 3

It time for another page of my art-journal. This one is about flowers. The first layer is aquarel paint, blue and yellow. The source is an old box owned by my mother, a travel box, with 12 colors. I use it sometimes. the painting is just throw some colors on the paper, without a goal. Then let it dry for a couple of hours. When the paper is dry enough, you draw some flowers on the spots you made earlier. The last layer was made with some paint-markers. The little flowers were colored with them and i also made the stems of the big flowers with them. It all fantasy and nice to do. It is also a bit of meditation as well. Alice

Art-journal 2

How is my art-journal developing? It is a bit adventurous, because the paper is absorbing lots of fluids and that is seen on the other side of the page, so I tried for the next page another technique. I made a background with acrylic paint. I used some yellow and red paint. I glued some nice torn green paper and painted the edges green. I used a clear stamp to make some red flowers, but it was not satisfying. So the next level was to take a magazine and I found some nice clippings in it. This I glued tot the background. That was more my liking.

The last I did was drawing some edges with my brush pen. I hope you enjoyed it. Alice

Art-journal 1

Started with a new art journal. I will show some art I made in it. I am still a bit experiencing, so it is not always perfect. I was excited when I discovered some nice video’s about neurological art. It is very inspiring.

It was my first attempt in this journal. the paper 300 gr. is very absorbing. The colors were made with ecoline brush pens and a black fineliner.

I hope you will enjoy it. Alice

Wood and art

I am starting with a new art project called painting on wood. I am using acryl paint markers. The used markers come in all kinds of colors and are very cheap. There are 40 or more different colors. They are sold in packages of one color theme. In each package there are 8 colors. I use 2 sets to experiment with. Totally 16 colors. The colors are blue and purple in one package and black, brown, orange and yellows in the other package.

This experiment started because I want to make a nice signboard for another project. For this signboard I thought to use wood as background. But wat kind of material is bright enough to make a nice drawing on the signboard. So, after searching the internet, the acryl markers came into sight.

Most people use the very expensive markers for this kind of art or for their art-journals. But they are really so expensive to buy for just a single project, like a signboard. In the local Action shop I found these cheap water based acrylic paint markers for a nice price. they are perfect for my experiment.

<<< My first attempt

I asked myself questions about what else do I need. First of all wood. Or something similar like carton or paint board. Maybe some surface paint like Gesso or white paint is needed.

Blank wood is not so easy to come by. Luckily I had a stash of all kinds of art materials, and there I found some blank wooden Christmas ornaments. They are perfect for making something cool. I also found a small wooden box and a painting canvas book. So the experiment could start.

First the markers or pens have to be activated by shaking and pumping the pens, That was in fact easy to do. Only one pen gave some troubles, it was a bit slow in pumping. You can have a scrap of paper beside your work and test the pens before you do the artwork. Also a cutting mat or news paper is handy for working clean and neat.

The results are, like you can see nice and clear. On wood the paint flows a bit in the veins, but the paint covers the wood well. No need of Gesso or white paint on this wooden ornament. The neon colors green and yellow are almost similar on the wooden heart after drying.

The point of the pen, the brush-tip, is not too thick or too small. The paint flows well by drawing a line or circle,

A point of concern is, the appearance of small grains on the tip after much painting. But they are easy to remove. And after working with the pens, my hands were clean. Only the cap of the pens doesn’t fit on the backside of the pens, so they roll all over your working space.

I am satisfied with the result of these paint markers. I think I can use them for the signboards, the art journal and also to make nice Christmas ornaments. Alice

House on a hill

It is a bit quiet these weeks with coloring and drawing and making items for my art-journals. There are other projects that need my attention. But there are stil drawings I haven’t showed, like the one above the text. It is a colored pencil drawing with fineliner. I think it is a nice composition. I like the hills and the houses. it is like a sea all those little colored hills.

The garden is also calling for attention. There is a lot to do. My hedges have to be removed. they are all eaten bij a moth in the summer of 2018. Only the part of the hedge that was near the lavender is still green. Removing the hedges will be a major operation for the garden will need a makeover after removing. But before we remove the hedges, we will cut the old branches of the shrubs and plants, so we see the snowdrops flowering.

I have to think what to plant instead of the hedges, maybe another kind of hedge or something totally different. Alice
